East Burdwan, West Bengal While checking at the checkpoint in Memari, East Burdwan, police and local people witnessed a mysterious incident. Many people in the car ran away leaving the car without number plate. Later, when the car was searched, the police found several bundles of cash and several digital items in the car. According to police sources, a total of four mobile phones, including an iPhone, a laptop, a Tab, and several debit and credit cards were recovered from the car. Given the source of such a large amount of cash and recovered items, the police initially suspected that the occupants of the car might be linked to an organized crime gang. The incident occurred during a routine police checkpoint checking on Wednesday night. When the police signaled the car to stop, the driver and his companions fled. During investigation, the police suspected that the incident might be related to some crime in Hooghly district. Police sources also said that the unregistered car was going from Hooghly towards Durgapur. Police have started preliminary investigation into the incident.
