A discussion meeting titled “Environmental Sustainability or Ecological Sustainability” in the industrial area of ​​Asansol-Durgapur was held on Saturday at Asansol Engineering College.

The symposium was organized by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Asansol Engineering College. This morning, State Law and Labor Minister Mallya Ghatak, Suresh Kumar, IAS Chairman, Damodar Valley Corporation (DBC), Brijendra Pratap Singh (Director-in-Charge, Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plant, SAIL and Chairperson, Durgapur Asansol Focus Committee) and Gautam Rai (President, Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and President - Corporate, RPSG) Group) and inaugurated the event in the presence of other people.

Speaking at the inaugural function, Mallya Ghatak said, “I appreciate the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry for organizing this discussion forum on environmental sustainability in the Indian Ocean. Every year they organize it at Asansol-Durgapur. We all know that Asansol is one of the oldest steel cities. Happy to announce in this discussion meeting that SAIL is going to invest Rs 33,000 crore in the modernization of Barnapur and Durgapur steel plants. I, as the Minister, I would request the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry to work with the government and solve the problems in this industrial belt.
