Asansol: The Banpur Narsinghbandh area of Asansol has been without electricity for nearly five days. Due to the continuous power outage, common people have been subjected to extreme suffering and a living hell. Daily life has been completely disrupted due to the intense heat and crisis of drinking water. The condition of children and elderly citizens, in particular, has become pathetic. Local residents complain that despite repeatedly informing the SAIL (Steel Authority of India Limited) authorities about this plight, no effective steps have been taken to repair the power infrastructure so far. Enraged by this extreme apathy and irresponsibility of the authorities, the local residents burst into anger.
Upon receiving this news, state minister and local MLA Agnimitra Paul quickly rushed to the spot to inspect the situation. She directly went to the affected areas, spoke with the common people, and patiently listened to all their problems. Seeing the long-term suspension of electricity services and the misery of the people, she expressed deep discontent and anger over the role of the SAIL authorities.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Minister Agnimitra Paul issued very stern instructions to the officials of the SAIL authorities. She made it clear that the repair work of the power infrastructure must be completed on a war footing immediately, and electricity connection in the area must be restored as soon as possible.
