A massive police operation has been underway since morning in the Niamatpur Harijan Para of Kulti. According to a report sent by Shyam Das from Asansol, this area has recently come to the attention of the administration as a major hotspot for cybercrime. Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that several youths from this region have a direct nexus with multiple sensational cyber fraud cases and financial scams committed across the country. Based on this information, a sudden and comprehensive search operation was conducted today under the joint initiative of the Asansol Cyber Crime Police Station and Kulti Police Station, led by a large contingent of forces from the Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate.
Following the sudden police raid in this Harijan Para, known as a stronghold of multiple cyber criminals, intense excitement and panic spread throughout the area. Widespread chaos was created among local residents and passersby. According to police sources, the operation was planned with utmost confidentiality so that the criminals could not get any opportunity to be alerted. It is estimated that several suspicious electronic devices, mobile phones, SIM cards, and fake documents have been seized during the search.
In the initial operation, the police have detained a few suspects who are currently being taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation. Investigating officers are examining what exact types of cyber frauds they are involved in and whether they have connections with any interstate or international syndicates. The Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate has clearly stated that a zero-tolerance policy has been adopted against cybercrime and such operations will continue until the masterminds of this syndicate are apprehended. Additional police forces have been deployed at the spot to maintain the law and order situation in the area.
