Widespread panic spread in the area surrounding the incident. According to local sources, two persons named Manik and Giri are involved in anti-social activities in the area. The allegation is that they throw bombs to create unrest. Locals further claim that the accused were involved in bombings in the area in the past also. However, no official response was received from the police or the accused regarding this allegation. According to residents of the area, a major accident could have occurred if a bomb exploded in a densely populated area. On receiving the news, the bomb squad reached the spot, recovered the bomb and defused it. Shusharna police station has started investigation into the incident. Before the voting, political turmoil has started around this incident. It is said that the administration has increased surveillance in the area.
