On this day, journalists, photojournalists, and representatives of various media outlets participated in the rally from Jetighat to Station Bazar, holding protest placards in their hands. They raised various slogans demanding the protection of media freedom and the safety of journalists. The speakers at the brief street meeting held after the rally said that the attack on journalists during news gathering is not just a personal attack, but a direct blow to democracy and media freedom. Therefore, they demanded the immediate identification, arrest, and exemplary punishment of those involved in the incident. The speakers further said that in order to prevent any journalist from being attacked in the future while performing their professional duties, it is essential for the administration to take effective security measures.
