An international flight from Kathmandu made emergency landing in Kolkata due to engine fire.
There was panic at Kolkata International Airport in Kolkata, West Bengal today when an international flight taking off from Kathmandu had to make an emergency landing due to engine fire. It is a matter of relief that all the 236 passengers on board the plane are safe. According to the information, THY 727 flight took off from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu at 1:29 pm. Shortly after takeoff, there was an indication in the cockpit that one of the plane's two engines had malfunctioned. It is being told that the fire broke out due to a mechanical fault in the right engine. After this, the pilot showed wisdom and flew the plane with the help of a single engine and immediately contacted Kolkata Air Traffic Control and asked for permission for emergency landing. According to airport sources, the plane landed safely at Kolkata International Airport at 2:49 pm. There were a total of 236 passengers on board the plane and all are safe. At present, the aircraft has been parked on the taxiway and officials of the concerned aviation authority are carrying out technical inspection and maintenance work. Due to the timely intelligence of the pilot and the promptness of the airport administration, a major accident was averted and all the passengers were rescued safely.
