Buddh threat aimed at the state judiciary. An e-mail has been sent threatening to blow up the seven courts of West Bengal including the Calcutta High Court. After receiving the threat message, there was extreme panic in the concerned court and security arrangements were strengthened.
Similar threat e-mails are reported to have been received in the courts of Asansol, Durgapur, Baharampur, Siwadi, Rampurhat and Alipur as well as in Kolkata. Due to the incident, high alert has been issued across five districts.
Asansol District Judge Debprasad Nath said that at around 11:30 in the morning, he received an e-mail in which there was a threat of explosion in the court at 1:00 in the afternoon. At the same time, all judicial work was suspended and orders were given to vacate the court. The matter is reported to Asansol-Durgarhpur Police Commissionerate.
On receiving the news, a huge police force surrounded the court. A ban is issued on entry of general public. Bomb squads and dog squads are being searched in every court room and judge's chamber.

It has been claimed in the threat e-mail that explosives have been planted in the court room and judge's chamber. Source news, e-mail has been sent in Bengali language. Meanwhile, the cyber cell has started searching for sources and technical information of e-mails.

Till now no official confirmation has been received from any court regarding recovery of explosives from the tank. An appeal has been made from the administration not to listen to the rumors and to remain calm. Although the situation is under control, the security forces are on maximum alert.
