Demanding prompt recruitment to vacant posts, reduction of workload, development of court infrastructure, and speedy disposal of justice, court employees in Bankura district court, like other districts across the state, observed a total work boycott for the second consecutive day. Due to this continuous work boycott, all judicial activities of the Bankura district court remained practically paralyzed on this day as well, causing immense suffering to ordinary litigants who came from far and wide. The situation took a stronger turn on the second and final day of this joint movement by court employees across the state.

The primary grievance of the agitating court employees is that recruitment of new staff in various courts of the state has been completely halted for a long time. Alongside this, as employees retire regularly, every court is currently facing an acute staff shortage. Under the present circumstances, it is seen that instead of three people, only one employee has to manage the mountain of work. Consequently, court employees are at their wits' end due to the mental and physical stress of excessive workload. In addition to this intense pressure of extra work, since infrastructural development of the courts has remained stalled for a long time, they are facing various complex problems every day.

The impact of this employee movement is directly falling on the litigants. Due to the lack of adequate staff, the trial process of every case is being severely delayed, as a result of which the wait for justice is becoming longer and longer for ordinary people. To overcome this dismal state of the judicial system and demanding immediate recruitment to vacant posts along with infrastructure improvement, court employees across the state chose this two-day work boycott. Since today is the final day of this work boycott, no work was done at all in the Bankura district court. Court employees have warned that if the government and concerned authorities do not intervene in this serious matter immediately, they will take the path of an even larger movement in the coming days.
