Plot to flee to Dubai foiled: Dhanbad's notorious gangster Prince Khan's brother Bunty arrested in Kolkata joint operation
Kolkata/Dhanbad: Dhanbad Police, with the assistance of West Bengal Police, arrested Bunty Khan, brother of notorious gangster Prince Khan of Wasseypur in Jharkhand's coal belt, from Kolkata. Police claim that at the moment of his arrest, he had finalized his plot to flee to Dubai. Acting on secret information, a special joint team of Jharkhand and West Bengal police raided a hideout in Kolkata and nabbed him. A passport, a Dubai visa, and several sensitive documents were recovered from the arrested individual.
According to police and intelligence sources, Bunty Khan had been on the Jharkhand Police's 'most wanted' list for a long time. Multiple serious cases, including extortion of huge sums by intimidating coal traders and local businessmen in Dhanbad, murder, Arms Act violations, and criminal conspiracy, are registered against him. This Wasseypur-based gang in Dhanbad had created an atmosphere of terror across the coal belt for a long time. Intelligence officials claim that Prince Khan himself is operating the gang from abroad, while his brother Bunty was managing the entire network on the ground in India.
Investigators revealed that Bunty had been hiding in Kolkata very secretly for quite a few days. From there, he had made full preparations to fly to Dubai using the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. However, the Jharkhand Police cyber cell and intelligence network were monitoring his movements. Based on precise information, he was arrested after a raid on his Kolkata hideout with the cooperation of West Bengal Police.
Notably, this is not the first time that members of the Prince Khan gang have tended to use Kolkata airport as a safe route. Earlier, Dhanbad Police had also caught 'Major' alias Saifi, one of the gang's main arms suppliers and trusted associates, red-handed from Kolkata airport. He too was planning to escape abroad using fake documents. Dhanbad Police view Bunty's arrest as one of their major successes.
Police stated that the legal process has begun to produce the arrested Bunty Khan before the concerned court in Kolkata and take him to Dhanbad on transit remand. Investigators will interrogate him continuously once he is brought to Dhanbad. Police hope that interrogating Bunty may reveal the exact location of Prince Khan hiding abroad, the gang's extortion hawala routes, and the names of other influential individuals associated with this racket.
