Asansol/Sitarampur: Keeping in view the upcoming assembly elections of 2026, security arrangements are being strengthened across West Bengal. In that context, a large number of members of the Central Security Forces reached the Amrit Bharat station of ** Sitarampur in a special train on Monday morning. It is learned that many soldiers of Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) were present in that train. They will be deployed to perform electoral duties in various districts of the state. Since Monday morning, movement of security forces and movement of many vehicles could be seen in the station Chatmaddar and Ashapash areas. Both male and female members reach here in large numbers. According to sources, army members are being sent from here for election duty in various districts including Bolpur, Birbhum, Kolkata. At this time, state police officers were also present and coordinated with the central forces and made arrangements to send them to their specific destinations. Regarding this, Sitarampur Amrit Bharat Station Committee member Santosh Kumar Verma said, the arrival of such a large number of central security forces is a matter of pride for Sitarampur. He said, the role of these soldiers is very important in making the elections, the biggest festival of democracy, happen peacefully. He further said that there have been incidents of violence in the previous elections in West Bengal. In that situation, deploying central forces is a positive step on the part of the Election Commission. As a result, voters will be able to exercise their democratic rights without fear. Santosh Kumar Verma said, the members of the country's security forces are working day and night to protect democracy. His arrival on the land of Sitarampur is a matter of honor for all of us.
