Residential house collapses in Khandaghosh, 8 members of the same family narrowly escape
Khandaghosh: On Saturday evening, in a tragic and sudden accident, a residential house collapsed at booth number 204 in Khatika village under mandal number 4 of the Khandaghosh assembly constituency in East Bardhaman district. This incident caused widespread sensation and panic across the entire area.
According to local sources, the old and dilapidated house of Ayesha Bibi Hazari suddenly collapsed on Saturday. Family members claimed that a total of eight family members were present inside the house at the very moment of the accident. The loud crash of the sudden collapse shook the surroundings, and the area was covered in dust within moments. However, despite extreme panic, using their presence of mind, all the family members managed to quickly get out of the house. As a result, a major loss of life was narrowly avoided by sheer luck. Members of the poor family have been left distressed by such a sudden accident during this winter season.
Meanwhile, upon receiving the news of this terrifying incident, local BJP leader Rakhi Roy rushed to the spot. She inspected the demolished house and assessed the entire situation by talking to the panicked and affected family members. After learning the details of the incident from the locals, she immediately informed the party's senior leadership over the phone and assured them of swift assistance.
Speaking to the media, Rakhi Roy stated that at this moment of extreme peril, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stands completely by the side of this affected family. She stated that all necessary administrative initiatives will be taken to arrange temporary accommodation to overcome the family's immediate plight and to quickly secure a pucca house for them through the government's 'Awas Yojana' or any other scheme.
Following this incident, both anger and concern have been observed among the local residents. Many are questioning the administration's vigilance over the collapse of a poor person's roof in this manner. Local residents have strongly demanded immediate permanent rehabilitation and government assistance for the affected family.
