According to police sources, the name of the deceased was known as Mrityunjdas Das (54), of the house in Belgadiya area. The complainant was admitted to a drug de-addiction center in Bamihati area of Hawdha two days ago. Babur died an unusual death within two days. On 22 noon, the family was informed by a call that his physical condition was extremely critical and they were asked to immediately reach Habarda State General Hospital. But before the family members could reach the hospital, they learned that he had died. The family is put under pressure to hand over the Aadhaar card at that time, the complaint says. When the relatives of the deceased asked the management of the intoxication center, they did not give any clear answer. If the situation was so serious, then why was he not taken to the hospital earlier? Suspicions deepened after seeing the CCTV footage of the rehab centre. The family's complaint, the footage shows Mrityun's hands and legs tied with gauze, a cloth tied around his face and a noose around his neck. When these pictures surfaced, there was widespread excitement around the incident. When the authorities of the rehab center were contacted regarding the incident, they refused to comment. Subsequently, the family of the deceased filed a written complaint at the Habrā police station. Based on the complaint, the police arrested seven people associated with the rehab center.
