Third Convocation of Women's University Held in Sarisha, Governor in Attendance
Baijid Mondal, South 24 Parganas: Taking another step forward in spreading the light of education and women empowerment, the third convocation ceremony of the traditional women's university located in Sarisha, South 24 Parganas, was successfully completed. This convocation was held amidst a very grand and splendid atmosphere on Monday, August 31, 2026. Centered around this convocation festival organized on the university premises from 11 AM, the entire area took on a festive look. West Bengal Governor R. N. Ravi was present as the chief guest at the event.
State Higher Education Minister Jagannath Chattopadhyay, University Registrar Dr. Saidur Rahman, along with prominent figures from the education world, academicians, and intellectuals, were present as special guests at this prestigious event. The program began with a warm welcome to the invited guests.
According to information received from the university authorities, degrees and honors were awarded to nearly 3,500 successful students from various departments this year in recognition of their achievements. A sparkle of joy was visible in the eyes and faces of the students after receiving their degrees. The students had been eagerly awaiting this day after a long period of study. Extreme enthusiasm and excitement were observed among the students, teachers, and parents surrounding the convocation.
The main attraction of the event was the valuable speech by the Governor. Along with handing over degrees to the students, he delivered an inspiring speech addressed to them. In his speech, the Governor placed special emphasis on moral values and a sense of social responsibility alongside modern education. He stated that acquiring human qualities alongside bookish knowledge is extremely essential. He called upon the young generation to become shapers of the country and society rather than mere job seekers in the competitive environment of the current era. At the same time, he emphasized the contribution of women's power in the overall development of the country and urged the female students to play a crucial role as guides for the future generation.
According to the university authorities, the third convocation ceremony will remain a very significant and historical chapter in the history and progress of educational expansion of this institution. The dignitaries present expressed hope that this university will take women's education much further in the days to come. A colorful cultural program was also organized at the end of the convocation.
