আজ থেকে সরকারি বাসে মহিলাদের বিনামূল্যে যাতায়াত, খুশি যাত্রীরা

Nirbheek Bengali, Durigapur, 1 June: Under the initiative of the state government, free travel service for women in government buses has started from Monday. Since this new system is effective across the state from June 1st, women passengers will not have to pay any more fare for traveling in government buses. According to the guidelines of the Transport Department, women passengers can avail this facility only if they show any valid identity card recognized by the government. After verifying the identity cards, the bus conductors will hand over 'zero value tickets' to them. Since the launch of the new service, there has been widespread enthusiasm among women passengers. According to him, this initiative will bring a lot of relief along with financial savings while traveling to workplace, educational institution or other work every day. In this regard, MLA Lakshman Ghaddu said, this step of the state government will make the travel of women more easy and affordable. Administration and transport staff have been instructed to remain vigilant to ensure that the service is run smoothly and efficiently, he said. From Monday morning, women passengers in various parts of the state including Durgapur have started availing the benefits of this new service. As a result, there is a positive response to this initiative among the common people.
