Shyam Das Nirbhik Bengali, Durgapur: Bike taxi drivers have joined the strike across the state since Tuesday citing dissatisfaction with the fare structure, deduction of additional commission and lack of minimum facilities including insurance. Drivers held a protest program in the City Center Bus Stand area of ​​Durgapur on Wednesday afternoon. According to their claims, fuel prices and maintenance costs are decreasing relatively. They complained that private app companies are deducting a large part of the rent as commission. According to a section of the drivers, in the present circumstances, the 'Yatri Sathi' service of the state government is relatively comfortable. Their claim is that this platform has less commission and more transparency in terms of income. That is why many drivers are expressing their interest in leaving the private app and joining 'Yatri Sathi'. Necessary safety measures including claims from drivers, renegotiation of fare structure, commission reduction and insurance will have to be ensured. They also sought intervention from the administration regarding the matter.
