Nirbheek Bengali, Murshidabad, Saturday: In the heat of election campaign, there was tension over the incident of clash between Congress and Trinamool Congress supporters in Baharampur, Murshidabad. According to sources, Congress candidate Adhir Ranjan Choudhary was campaigning in the area with his supporters. At the same time, another campaign camp led by Trinamool Congress councilor Bhisham Deb reached the same area. After the two sides face off, sloganeering begins, which quickly turns into heated exchanges and later violence. Allegedly, workers and supporters of both the parties got involved in the clash. When the situation started going out of control, the police present at the spot intervened. Police efforts finally brought the situation under control. After the incident created tension in the area for some time, both the parties went back to their election campaigns. Currently the police are monitoring the situation.
