BJP gets big strength before Bengal Assembly elections

Before the Kolkata, West Bengal Assembly elections, the BJP camp has got a lot of strength. Former NSG commander and undercover agent Dipanjan Chakraborty, former CRPF DSP Biplab Biswas and Kasturi Goswami, daughter of senior Left leader and former minister Khiti Goswami, have joined the BJP. In a program organized on Tuesday at the BJP office in Kolkata, the three leaders were formally inducted into the party in the presence of Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari and State BJP President Shamik Bhattacharya. On this occasion, he was welcomed by handing over the BJP flag. During the program, Suvendu Adhikari made serious allegations against suspended TMC MLA and Janata Unnayan Party chief Humayun Kabir. He claimed that Humayun Kabir was in Bangladesh for seven days before laying the foundation of Babri Masjid in Murshidabad. The officer also alleged that money was coming into Kabir's State Bank of India account from Bangladesh and this should be investigated. If we look at the results of the 2021 assembly elections, out of the total 294 seats in West Bengal, Trinamool Congress had won 213 seats, while BJP had won 77 seats. This time, before the elections, BJP is entering the electoral fray on many issues including the SIR process. At the same time, Trinamool Congress is preparing to reach out to the public with the help of four major schemes including Yuvo Sathi. Both the parties are claiming to form the government in the 2026 assembly elections. Now it remains to be seen which party the people of the state support.
