Fearless Bengali, Shyam Das | Asansol Asansol, February 8: A representative team of AIMIM visited Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate's (ADPC) Hirapur police station on Tuesday, claiming that an FIR has been filed against Asansol South BJP MLA Agnimitra Pal for his defamatory remarks in the Assembly regarding Madrasa education. Under the leadership of West Bengal state AIMIM leader and West Bengal district AIMIM committee president Danish Aziz, the delegation went to Hirapur police station. According to the demands of the delegation, Agnimitra Paul made derogatory remarks about Madrasa education in the Legislative Assembly and in public, in view of which an FIR has been filed against him. Officer-in-Charge of Hirapur Police Station, Sammen Banerjee assured the delegation that after talking to the higher authorities, a copy of the relevant FIR would be provided to them very soon. But AIMIM raises many questions about the role of the ruling party Trinamool Congress in this incident. Danish Aziz said, "Why is Trinamool Congress silent on this issue? Do they only want the votes of minority voters? Will they take any action in the interest of minority voters?" He further raised questions, whether action will be taken against BJP MLA Agnimitra Pal and whether Trinamool will take any stand on the demand for cancellation of his MLA post. At the same time, AIMIM leadership expressed their anger over the silence of West Bengal Law Minister Mallya Ghatak. AIMIM informed that as the Law Minister of West Bengal, Mallya Ghatak should take legal action in this matter. Otherwise, it has been warned that a protest program will be taken in front of the office of the Commissioner of Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate in the coming days.
