Nirbhik Bangla, Asansol: On Sunday morning, during a visit to the Asansol Rifle Club in the Chandmari area under Asansol North Police Station, state minister Agnimitra Paul made remarks about the state's madrasa education system. She claimed that the previous government had allocated nearly five thousand crore rupees for the development of madrasas. She alleged that when the BJP had demanded an account of how this money was spent, it was not provided. The minister further claimed that based on various reports, there are allegations that some unrecognized madrasas teach anti-India content and provide training in bomb-making. However, she did not cite any specific evidence or name any particular institution to support this claim. Agnimitra Paul stated that a Muslim parent sends their children to madrasas with the aim of providing them with higher education and establishing them in society, not for anti-India teachings. She asserted that the BJP's goal is to reform the madrasa education system so that its students can join the mainstream of society and establish themselves in various professions, including doctors and engineers. The minister's comments have sparked the possibility of renewed debate in political circles.
