Nirbheek Bengali, Durgapur | City Center Busstand Despite preparations being made to send approximately 4,781 poll workers from the Asansol-Durgāpur industrial area to different districts for the second phase of assembly elections, due to lack of sufficient buses, extreme chaos was created at the City Center bus stand of Durgāpur on Tuesday morning. Complaint: Even after the scheduled time has passed, many poll workers stand waiting for the bus for a long time. As a result, there is anxiety among them about reaching the DCRC center at the appointed time. After a long wait, a section of polling workers burst into anger. They started protesting by sitting on the road adjacent to the bus stand. They claimed that adequate transportation arrangements should have been made in advance to send such a large number of workers to different districts. In the words of an angry poll worker, “Times have passed, I still don't understand how to reach the DCRC centre. There is uncertainty about whether I will be able to perform my duties on time.” There was tension in the area for some time over the incident. It is said that efforts are being made by the administration to control the situation and initiatives have been taken to make quick alternative transportation arrangements.
