Nirbheek Bengali, own correspondent, Durgapur: Before the elections, pictures of extreme suffering in Durgapur due to voter list revision surfaced. Since Tuesday morning, many people were seen standing in long queues at the Bhagat Singh Stadium to submit their applications. Common citizens are facing the problem of missing names from the voter list. Complaints, standing in queues for hours for re-inclusion of names and not getting quick solutions. As a result, the applicants are becoming victims of extreme harassment. To keep the situation under control, the stadium has been cordoned off by the State Police as well as the Central Army. Despite security being tightened, many problems are being reported in crowd handling and service delivery. A section of voters said that as the process was not completed within the stipulated time, they had to come again and again, which was creating additional hardships for them. This situation before the elections is increasing the pressure on the administration, the concerned feel.
