দুর্গাপুরে আদিবাসী সংগঠনের অনির্দিষ্টকালের ধর্না, ভোট বয়কটের হুঁশিয়ারি

Nirbheek Bengali, Durgapur, West Bengal: Tribal organization Disam Adivasi Gaota started an indefinite strike in Durgapur with multiple demands in front of the vote. This movement has started with the focus being on the name being omitted from the voter list, the poor condition of the infrastructure of tribal schools and the problem of water, sewage and habitat. Members of the organization started a protest program from Monday near Bhagat Singh Ground adjacent to the office of Durgapur Municipal Corporation Governor. Tribal school students also participated in this movement. The protesters allege that for the past few years, tribal areas have been facing many problems including drinking water and roads. Despite informing the administration several times, no permanent solution was found. Besides, they have also raised allegations of omission of names from the voter list and mismanagement. Members of tribal organizations said that political leaders made promises during the elections but those promises are not kept after the elections are over. Therefore, they have called for boycotting the votes in this election. Instructions have also been given to continue the agitation until the demands are met. Police reached the spot after receiving the news. Before the elections, there is increasing concern in the political circles regarding this movement of tribals. Meanwhile, the district Trinamool leadership has assured to be with the agitators. On the other hand, BJP district leadership has raised its voice on this issue. Tribal community people from different parts of West Vandaman district are reported to have joined this movement. Now everyone's eyes are on what steps the administration will take.
