Fearless Bengali: A marathon running competition was organized on Saturday morning under the initiative of Mahila Trinamool Congress in ward number 25 of Durgapur Municipal Corporation. Dipankar Laha, former councilor of that ward formally inaugurated the competition. He inaugurated the marathon by hoisting the flag. Many members of Mahila Trinamool Congress including Ward President of Trinamool Congress Satyaji Roy were present in this event. Mahila Trinamool Congress member Kakuli Kar said that this marathon race has been organized to spread the message of keeping the body healthy and active among the common people. About 200 male and female competitors participated in this day's competition. It has been informed by the entrepreneurs that in the marathon race, the first place winner will be given a prize of Rs 7,000, the second place will be given Rs 5,000 and the third place will be given a prize of Rs 3,000.
