A truck involved in cattle smuggling racket was seized in Durgapur, 21 cattle rescued

Nirbhik Bangla, Durgapur: The Durgapur police station's Faridpur outpost police have arrested a truck on charges of smuggling cattle from Bihar to Kolkata. 21 cattle have been rescued from the truck. Two people have been arrested by the police in this incident. According to police sources, on Sunday night, a cattle-laden truck was going towards Kolkata on National Highway 19. The Faridpur outpost police launched an operation and arrested the truck based on a secret tip. 21 cattle were rescued during the search and two people with the truck were arrested. Necessary legal action has been taken against the arrested. After the police operation, on Monday morning, BJP youth leader Parijat Gangopadhyay reached the Faridpur outpost and thanked the officer-in-charge, Sushim Sarkar, by offering him sweets for the police's action. In this regard, Parijat Gangopadhyay said that after a long time, the police are seen taking active steps against cattle smuggling. He claimed that after the BJP came to power, the police's role in maintaining law and order has become more active, and that's why the police are being thanked by the common people. In this matter, the police have not made any official comment yet. The investigation is ongoing.
