Protest at Durgapur sub-divisional office for not receiving money under Annapurna scheme

Fearless Bengali, Shyam Das, Durgapur: Many women joined the protest in front of Durgapur Municipal Corporation (SD) office on Saturday, alleging that the financial assistance money of Annapurna Yojana is still not reaching the bank account. According to the protestors, even though all the required documents have been submitted on time as per the government guidelines, the status of their application form online is showing as 'Void'. No clear reason or explanation was given by the administration as to why the application was rejected. In the hope of solving the problem, he went to the Municipal Corporation's office today and was informed to check the status of the application form again after the next 10th. The protesters became angry at this reply and joined the protest in front of the office. Women participating in the protest claimed that they repeatedly went to the government department and found no solution to their problems. Qualified applicants are increasingly being victimized. They demanded that the canceled applications be immediately reconsidered and the amount of financial assistance received by the genuine consumers be deposited in their bank accounts. Although the protests created tension for some time, the situation returned to normal.
