Nirbheek Bengali, Durgapur, 20 May: West Bengalman District Magistrate Es Ponnambalam formally took charge as the Administrator of Durgapur Pursabhool. On Wednesday, he came to Durgapur Municipal Corporation and held a meeting with the Commissioner and took charge by sitting on the administrator's chair. On this day, MLA of Durgapur East Chandrashekhar Chandrashekhar congratulated the newly appointed administrator and MLA of Durgapur West Lakshman Chandra Ghardu. After taking charge, Ponnamambalam said that special importance will be given to the developmental works which are lying incomplete in various wards under the Municipal Corporation. Besides, immediate steps will have to be taken to further improve citizen services, he said. The newly appointed administrator also said that on Saturday of this week, a detailed discussion will be held with two MLAs regarding various projects and developmental works of the Municipal Corporation. The administrative source informed that future planning and priority of work will be decided in that meeting. New ventures and hopes have sprung up in the Durgapur Municipal Corporation after Ponnamambalam took charge. Civil services and developmental works will gain momentum, it is an optimistic administrative building.
