Smoke - Dhuloyah Mudha like a breath of peace in the chest of industrial city Durgapur. A residential area of a private factory situated in the middle of the pollution-ridden city, in the village of Gail Durgapur, in the heart of the city. The whole courtyard was covered with colorful flowers.
This is not a one-two year initiative. The owners of that residence have been keeping an eye on it by organizing regular flower shows for the last 46 years. With time, this exhibition is carrying a unique message not only of beauty but also of environmental awareness.
Apart from the exotic flowers, the special attraction of this year's exhibition was the various species of vegetables produced through chemical-free organic methods. Which points towards environment-friendly farming and healthy living.
Since Monday morning, enthusiasm was visible around the flower exhibition. This year a total of 46 female contestants took part in this competition. The noteworthy point is that every contestant who takes a share is rewarded. This idea of cooperation and recognition along with competition further brightens the human aspect of the event.
This continuous effort of the Greens in the city of pollution seems like a silent protest – it is still possible to bring about change by loving nature.Durgapur
