Court hearing in gang rape case of medical student in Durgapur

Durgapur, West Bengal: The hearing of the gang rape case of a student of Durgapur IQCT Medical College has been held in Durgapur court. The victim student gave his secret statement in the Durgapur Sub-District Court on Friday amid tight security. Last year, there was an uproar in the entire Durgapur industrial city of Durgapur over the allegations of gang rape of a student of IQCT Medical College. In this incident, the police had arrested a total of six people including the main accused. On Friday, the victim's statement was recorded in front of the judge in a closed room of the court. Special police arrangements were made in the court campus to keep his identity secret and ensure security. After the testimony, the next hearing of the case has been fixed for Saturday. Complainant's lawyer Partha Ghosh said that the victim's testimony is on the case trial. On the other hand, the accused's lawyer Shekhar Kundu said that the trial of the case is going on and there is no difference in the statements. Now the entire city is waiting for the court's observation in the next hearing.
