Those two workers were injured while cleaning political campaign on the government wall on Sunday. It is learned that Surya Kant Paul and Bittu Gupta, employees of the Durgapur Municipal Corporation, removed the political writings on the government wall as per the instructions of the Election Commission. Allegedly, while he was getting into the car after finishing his work by painting Trinamool Congress's campaign on the wall of the Karingpapada post office, some persons pulled him out of the car and beat him severely. There was excitement in the area over the incident. Police and central forces reached the spot to bring the situation under control. Meanwhile, in protest against this incident, BJP workers- Samarth Kera surrounded the Cook Oven Police Station of Ward No. 30 of Durgapur and demonstrated. Their demand is that those who attack employees who are injured while performing government duties should be arrested immediately. The protests created tension in the area for some time. Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. According to police sources, some people have already been arrested and investigation into the incident has started. It has been informed that the culprits will be identified and legal action will be taken.
