Durgapur hosts JIS Education Expo 2026, guiding students in higher education and career building

Durgāpur: JIS Education Expo 2026 was organized in the famous auditorium of Durgāpur to show the right direction to the students regarding higher education, career counseling and future career life. Students, parents and teachers of more than 130 schools from West Vandhman, East Vandhman, Baankudah, Birbhoom, Bolpur, Dhanbad and Puruliyar participated in this one-day education fair. The event was inaugurated by JIS Group Managing Director Sardar Taranjith Singh. Durgapur Municipal Assembly Commissioner Abul Kalam Azad Islam and representative of Durgapur West Assembly MLA Roopam Laha were present. The expo showcases detailed information about 185 academic programs run under 39 educational institutions of JIS Group. Students are also given detailed information about various diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses. Career counseling sessions conducted by experts gave participants the opportunity to get personal advice on various possibilities for higher education, admission process and future career. As a result, students get important guidance in choosing the path of higher education according to their interest and ability. One of the highlights of the program was the felicitation of students who passed the secondary and higher secondary examinations from various schools. Apart from this, special sessions for discussion meetings, workshops and future work planning of the teachers are also organised. According to the organisers, the main objective of this expo is to make students aware about higher education and working life as well as to create effective communication between educational institutions, parents and students.
