Nirbhik Bengali, Durgapur: National Congress on the way to protest against price rise and supply crisis of fuel gas. On Sunday, Congress workers marched in support of the protest from Panchmatha crossing in Durgapur to the outskirts. The district leadership and women workers also participated. At the end of the meeting, women leaders of the district Congress were seen cooking on coals as a symbolic protest. The Congress leadership said that this program is to highlight the issue of gas price hike and the suffering of the common people due to the crisis. District Congress President Debesh Chakraborty and District President Meghna Manna complained, "During the wartime situation, there is a shortage of fuel gas. The central government is completely responsible for this. Due to not keeping sufficient amount of gas in stock, the common people are facing this problem." Their demand is that gas supply should be normalized quickly and price rise should be controlled. Otherwise, Congress leaders should give leadership to the leaders in the path of larger movement in the coming days.
