দুর্গাপুরে অচল জলের এটিএম ঘিরে বিজেপির অভিনব প্রতিবাদ, ফুল-মালা দিয়ে ‘শ্রাদ্ধ’ কর্মসূচি

Durgapur: BJP named BJP in protest against water ATM which was lying idle for a long time. On Sunday morning, BJP leadership and workers demonstrated by symbolically 'sanctifying' the two water tanks located in the area adjacent to Durgapur Mahakuma Hospital and ISI Hospital by placing flower garlands on them. BJP's allegation is that a few years ago, Durgapur Municipal Corporation had started about 16 tonnes of water pumps in different parts of the city. Its objective was to provide pure drinking water to the common people at low cost. But for a long time most of the ATMs are lying idle. Despite the matter being reported to the Municipal Council several times, there was no permanent solution to the problem, claim BJP leaders. To protest against this situation, BJP took a new program on Sunday morning. Protest programs were organized under the leadership of party leader Amitabh Bandyopadhyay and Tarun Das. Symbolic protest is expressed by offering flowers and garlands in front of the immovable statue and saying 'Shradidhanjali'. BJP leader Amitabh Bandyopadhyay complained, "Unfortunately, Durgapur Municipal Corporation. One of the water pumps which were installed for the convenience of the common man, is not functioning properly. Summer is ahead, but the people are facing extreme suffering. These pumps are practically dead and we are forced to pay our respects to them." On the other hand, Dharmendra Yadav, Vice-Chairman of the Administrative Board of Durgapur Municipal Corporation, gave assurance regarding the issue. His demand is that arrangements will be made to quickly repair and restart the non-functioning water mains.
