Durgapur: Two people died in two tragic road accidents in Durgapur on Sunday. In two separate incidents, a woman and a bike rider lost their lives after being hit by a truck. Along with the incident, a shadow of mourning has descended on the area. The first incident took place in SB Mor area under Cook Oven police station of Durgapur. According to local sources, a truck was coming at high speed towards SB junction via PCBL road. Allegation: Due to excessive speed, the truck lost control and hit a woman while crossing the road. He died on the spot. The name of the deceased woman is Aasha Das (50). He was a resident of Saheb Pukur Pada area adjacent to Karingpapada and worked in a hotel at SB Morre. After receiving the news of the accident, the police of Kok Owen police station and traffic guard reached the spot. Police arrested the truck and driver. Due to the accident, traffic movement at SB junction is disrupted for some time. On the other hand, the second accident occurred in Kangsar Muchipara area. According to local sources, a truck was moving towards Munnar through the service road of মুচিপাড়া market. At that time, a bike rider was hit by a truck. When he was seriously injured, the local people tried to rescue him and take him to the hospital, but ultimately he died. Local resident Vikas Ghatak said, "A fatal road accident. A truck hits me and quickly leaves the spot. Later we come to know that the biker has died." After the two accidents, a shadow of mourning fell across Durgapur. Police have started investigation into two incidents.
