An important press conference was organized at the Kulti Block Congress office located in Neamatpur under the Asansol subdivision of Paschim Bardhaman district. Internal anger and dissatisfaction within the Congress in Asansol's political arena have now come completely into the open.
Notably, a major joining program was held a few days ago at the district Congress office located in the historic Girja More area of Asansol. In that event, the former women's block president of the Trinamool Congress from the Kulti Assembly constituency, along with many of her followers and supporters, left the Trinamool and officially joined the Congress. Although this joining took place in the presence of district leadership, local Block Congress leaders of Kulti are unable to take it lightly.
At the press conference organized at the Neamatpur office on Sunday, the main allegation of the Kulti Block Congress leadership was that this joining program was conducted in Asansol keeping the local block committee completely in the dark and without any prior discussion.
Addressing the media, the Block Congress leadership clearly stated that they would in no way accept this joining made by ignoring the local organization and workers. Keeping in mind the sentiments of the party workers and supporters, the Congress high command has already been informed in detail, both in writing and verbally. At the same time, the Kulti Block Congress strongly demanded that the high command immediately cancel this controversial joining. Experienced political circles believe that factional feuds within the Congress in the Kulti and Asansol areas have once again come to the fore following this incident.
