A gold trader's bag was stolen in Panagarh market, 1 arrested

Nirbhik Bangla, Kaksa: In a gold robbery incident at Panagarh market, the Kaksa police arrested a person named Sher Ali Khan, also known as Tengra. The accused was produced in the sub-divisional court on Saturday. According to police sources, the incident occurred on the evening of June 12 at Panagarh market. On that day, Subir Pal, a gold trader at Panagarh market, closed his shop and took some gold and silver jewelry and around Rs 50,000 in cash in a bag on his scooter to head home. As he rode a short distance from the shop, two miscreants on a bike started pulling the bag from his hand. During the scuffle with the robbers, the trader fell off his scooter onto the road and was injured. Locals tried to catch the miscreants but they escaped on their bike. The Kaksa police station received the news and arrived at the scene, and the injured trader was sent to the Panagarh Block Primary Health Center for treatment. After that, the police started an investigation based on the trader's written complaint and tried to identify the miscreants by examining the CCTV footage of the scene and surrounding areas. Through police sources, they found Sher Ali Khan and arrested him from his home in Mollapara, Kaksa, on Friday night. The police said that so far, they have not been able to recover the stolen gold, silver jewelry, or cash. The accused is being held in police custody and is being interrogated to recover the stolen items and to determine if anyone else was involved in the incident.
