Fearless Bengali, Shyam Das, Asansol Dendua village of Salanpur block, Maheshpur area of Panchayat Maheshpur area has become extremely polluted due to the pollution of the factory's laser machine. Villagers joined the protest in front of the factory gate holding BJP flags on Friday morning to protest against pollution and demand immediate removal of the crusher. There was excitement around the incident at Ramdoot Metals Pvt Ltd factory. According to local sources, villagers had started agitating in front of the factory on April 18 with the same demand. To handle the situation, a tri-weekly meeting is held in the presence of villagers, police and the Panchayat head. Allegation, in that meeting the factory authorities had given assurance to immediately shift the polluting waste to somewhere else. But the villagers demand that the cursor be restarted as soon as the elections are over. As a result, the level of pollution in the area increases further. Complaints by angry residents, dust and noise have made life of common people miserable. One agitator said, "The promise of removing the cancer was made but later it was not accepted. We were forced to protest again." After getting the news of the protest, a huge police force of Kalyaneshwari police station under Salanpur police station reached the spot. The police tried to bring the situation under control by holding long talks with the protesters. Finally the police administration wants time till next Monday. Police assured that efforts will be made to take appropriate action regarding the matter. After the assurance of the administration, the residents of Maheshpur stopped protesting like this for the time being. But their clear warning is that if the problems are not resolved within the given time, they will join a bigger movement in the coming days.
