BJP candidate Jitendra Tiwari was present in this road show organized in Goundar Bazaar of Durgapur-Faridpur block. From the meeting, Himanta Biswa Sarma appealed to the common people to make Jitendra Tewari win with a large number of votes in the interest of the development of Pandaveshwar. Later, while facing the media, he strongly criticized the opponents regarding the Women Power Bill. His allegation was that the opponents deliberately created obstacles in passing the bill. In the same context, he strongly criticized Mamata Banerjee's opposition and said, "Women's power will respond to it." Also commenting on the law and order situation, he said that before the voting, strict action should be taken against the wrongdoers and called upon the TMC “goons” to surrender. The political heat in Pandaveshwar assembly area has increased further due to this whole incident.
