BJP leader accused of spreading false propaganda, cowshed video case turned out to be fake

Asansol, West Bengal Amidst the ongoing political tussle between Trinamool Congress and BJP in Pandeshwar assembly constituency, a new controversy has arisen over a viral video. A video shared by BJP leader cum former MLA Jitendra Tiwari is now being claimed to be fake. A few days ago, a so-called “AI war” was going on on social media between BJP and Trinamool leaders, in which videos were being posted against each other. In this sequence, BJP leader Jitendra Tiwari had released a video accusing Trinamool MLA Narendra Nath Chakraborty of negligence in development works. In the viral video, a woman was shown standing near a dilapidated cow shed. In the video, the woman, identified as Sundara Sutradhar, was seen alleging that she lives in the same dilapidated cowshed and despite applying several times to build a pucca house under the housing scheme, she did not get the benefit. In the video, Jitendra Tiwari was seen raising the question as to where the money being sent by the government under the housing scheme is going. However, after this video surfaced, Trinamool MLA Narendra Nath Chakraborty made the real condition of the woman public in a press conference. The MLA showed the woman's pucca house to the media, where she lives with her family. While giving a statement in front of the media, the woman concerned alleged that BJP leader Jitendra Tiwari had given her Rs 1000 and asked her to give a statement that she did not get the benefit of the housing scheme and was forced to live in a cow shed. The woman admitted that she gave the false statement out of greed for money. She also said that she was taking benefits of various schemes of the government and later she realized her mistake, after which she herself came forward and told the truth. After this whole matter came to light, no clear response has been given by BJP leader Jitendra Tiwari till now and he seems to be avoiding commenting on this issue. Political experts believe that in the election environment, such videos and allegations and counter-allegations can further heat up the politics of the region. At present, this matter remains a topic of discussion in the area.
