Fearless Bengali Shyam Das Asansol: There is an acute drinking water shortage in the last five days in Ward number 13 of Asansol. Despite repeated complaints from local residents, no effective steps were taken to resolve the problem. BJP leader Krishna Prasad had recently organized a blanket distribution program in the area. At that time a lot of enthusiasm could be seen among the residents. The local residents, angry over the water crisis, lodged a complaint with Baro Chairman Utpal Sinha. But as the problem was not resolved even after the complaint, the situation became more heated. When the residents informed the matter to BJP leader Krishna Prasad, he first tried to contact Utpal Sinha. After not getting any response, he directly spoke to Vidhan Upa Dhaya on phone. After about half an hour of discussion, as per the Mayor's instructions, the supply of drinking water in the area will be normalized within an hour, claimed the BJP leader. Krishna Prasad further alleged that Trinamool Congress worker Manoji Hembrom tried to create disturbance at the blanket distribution program organized on January 19. In this incident, he filed a written complaint at Asansole North Police Station. After this, drinking water supply was stopped in the area, he alleged. He said, “Being a man of one tribal community, it is unfair to cut off water service to other tribal residents.” He also thanked Mr. Vidhan Upa Dhyay for taking prompt arrangements.
