Water supply restored in Chhuta Danga due to initiative of BJP leader and intervention of Mayor

Asansol, West Bengal Water supply has been restored in Chhuta Danga area located in Ward No. 13 of Asansol Municipal Corporation after five days. There is an atmosphere of happiness among the people of the area due to the arrival of water. Local residents allege that at the behest of a Trinamool leader named Manojit Hembram, water supply to the area was stopped, due to which people were forced to suffer for every drop of water. People also expressed their problems to local Trinamool councilor Utpal Sinha, but no solution was found. This was followed by alleged taunts by some Trinamool leaders. Meanwhile, after getting information about the problem in the area, BJP leader Krishna Prasad reached the spot and talked to the people. He first tried to contact councilor Utpal Sinha on phone, but could not be contacted. After this he spoke to Asansol Municipal Corporation Chairman Amarnath Chatterjee, who assured to resolve the problem. After this the BJP leader contacted Mayor Vidhan Upadhyay. It is said that after about half an hour the Mayor himself called and got information about the entire matter and within about an hour the water supply was restored in Chhuta Danga. BJP leader Krishna Prasad expressed his gratitude to the Mayor and praised him for solving the water problem. He said that as the summer season is about to begin, the Municipal Corporation should ensure regular water supply in all the 106 wards. Krishna Prasad also told that on January 19, 2026, he had reached Chhuta Danga during the blanket distribution program, where according to him, at the behest of the Trinamool leader, the program was disrupted and a clash arose. He also alleged that a case of molestation was filed against him and his supporters by a tribal woman, which he termed as a conspiracy. At present, the people of Chhuta Danga have heaved a sigh of relief with the solution to the water problem that has been going on for five days.
