Nirbhik Bangla, Barabani: A new and historic chapter in the political equations of the Barabani assembly constituency began in the Nuni Gram Panchayat. Ending a long phase of political tug-of-war, speculations, and various administrative complications, candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been elected to the posts of Pradhan and Upa-Pradhan in this panchayat. Today, a special meeting for the election of the Pradhan and Upapradhan, involving all elected members of the panchayat, was held in a very peaceful, orderly, and systematic manner. In this election, Ritu Bauri won the post of Pradhan of Nuni Panchayat, and Sima Mondal assumed charge as the Upa-Pradhan. Through this transfer of power, the Lotus camp has delivered a message of a new political balance in the Nuni region. Facing the media after this political upheaval, Amal Roy, the father of Barabani MLA Arijit Roy, launched a scathing attack on the ruling party. Alleging rampant corruption and autocratic rule in this panchayat area for the past 15 years, he strongly claimed that instead of properly utilizing government-allocated funds for the development of common people, there was only 'cut-money' and party appeasement. Expressing hope, Amal Babu said that for the first time, a BJP Pradhan has been elected in Nuni Panchayat, and in the coming days, giving a fitting reply to the corruption of the ruling party and ensuring the overall development of the area will be their primary and sole objective.
On the other hand, Ujjal Dhibar, a prominent leader of the BJP district committee, described the day as a momentous occasion of joy and a sort of liberation for the residents of the Nuni area. He stated that forgetting political differences or bias, it will be ensured that every eligible and deprived person in the area gets a permanent house under the government's Awas Yojana. Additionally, he promised to place special emphasis on developing the rural infrastructure of the area through the construction of improved paved roads in underdeveloped villages and the introduction of modern drainage systems. He mentioned that special plans are also being made to solve drinking water problems and deliver healthcare services.
Newly elected Pradhan Ritu Bauri pledged to reciprocate this trust placed by the party. In her reaction, she stated that she will ensure service to every single person of Nuni Panchayat with complete honesty, transparency, and dedication. She gave a firm assurance that she will always strive to resolve any civic service issues for any ordinary citizen of the area, regardless of party affiliation. Alongside, Upa-Pradhan Sima Mondal also expressed her commitment to discharging her duties honestly for the welfare of the common people.
