Balurghat artists said that small statues are being sold starting from Rs 100, Rs 200, Rs 300, Rs 400 and big statues are being sold up to Rs 2,000, Rs 2,000, Rs 3,000, Rs 3,500. But even at this price they are making very little profit, it is alleged. The artisans said that their expenses have increased due to the increase in the prices of soil, wood, paint, oil, clothes etc.
