Allegation, several party offices of Trinamool Congress have been vandalized and set on fire. Apart from this, incidents of political conflict have also taken place in many areas, due to which tension has spread throughout the industrial area. In this situation, the district administration, Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate and the Central Army have come together to take strict action. In a press conference on Wednesday, Police Commissioner Pranab Kumar, District Magistrate and District Election Officer Ponnambalam and District Coordinator Sunil Kumar Singh clearly stated that no tolerance will be shown in the post-poll violence. The administration has appealed to the general public to maintain peace. Besides, everyone has been appealed to stay away from provocative activities. According to police sources, around 200 people have already been arrested for their involvement in the unrest. Police patrolling and surveillance has been increased in the area to maintain law and order. Administration claims, the situation is under control and all steps are being taken to maintain peace.
