On the occasion of Forest Week, awareness rallies were held in Asansol and Kulti, with a message of plantation for school students.

Fearless Bengali, Asansol/Kulti, ১৭ জুলি: On the occasion of Forest Week, a forest awareness rally was organized on Friday under the initiative of two schools of Asansol and Kultir with the message of environmental protection and greenery. Two areas became prominent in the enthusiasm and participation of students. As an initiative of Asansol's Umarani Gadhai Women Welfare School, an awareness procession comes out from the school premises in the morning. Starting from the school on Raimani Lane, the reality toured around various areas including Godhuli Road and ended back at the school. The school's teacher-in-charge Papiya Ghosh along with other teachers participated. The students had placards with various slogans highlighting the importance of environmental protection and conservation. Teacher-in-Charge Papaiya Ghosh informed that the 'Unfortunate Week' starting from 14th July will continue till 20th July. On this occasion, many programs including quizzes and awareness programs have been organized in the school. He said that this rally has been organized to spread the message of greening to the common people. On the other hand, under the initiative of Jagdish Chandra Bose Eco Club of Kulti High School, a Varna Dadhay Raili is also organized to celebrate the Aranya Week. Starting from the school premises, the reality club roamed around the various roads and returned back to school. NCC cadets and students of the elite school held banners and placards giving the message of protecting the environment. It was written on the banner - "Give back that beauty, give back the beauty of green, give back the beauty of flowers, give the life of immortality". As per the school sources, Ashanti Week is being observed through various programs from 14th to 20th July. Besides, a year-round tree planting program titled “A Tree in the Name of Mother” will also be run. Anup Kumar Dutt, the head teacher in charge of the school, said, "This initiative of ours is aimed at increasing environmental awareness and greening. Not only the students, but also the common people have to come forward to protect the environment." The enthusiastic participation of teachers, teachers and students of the school in this program was eye-catching.
