নির্ভীক বাংলা শ্যাম দাস Asansol, Monday evening: A fire suddenly broke out in an abandoned railway quarter adjacent to the Bishpur House behind the Church Square truck stand within the Asansol South police station area. Within moments, the flames and thick smoke frightened the local residents. According to local sources, the fire spread quickly due to accumulation of rain and dry leaves in that abandoned quarter for a long time. Within a short time of the fire, black smoke covered all the surroundings, resulting in panic in the surrounding areas. On receiving news of the incident, INTTUC leader Raju Ahluwalia reached the spot and immediately informed the police and fire department of Asansol South Police Station. Later, firefighters reached the spot and started the work of bringing the fire under control. No casualties were reported in this incident. But what caused the fire, the police and fire department are waiting to find out. Investigation of the entire incident has started.
