আসানসোল শহরে ‘এড মাই বিন’ প্রকল্পের সূচনা, জনবহুল এলাকায় বসবে নতুন ডাস্টবিন

Fearless Bengali, Asansol, June 4: A new initiative has been taken in Asansol to make the city cleaner and forest free. Under the initiative of a private organization, a scheme to install dustbins in various populated areas of the city has been started. State Urban Development and Urban Affairs Minister Agnimitra Pal inaugurated the 'Edd My Bin' project at a function at Asansol Circuit House on Thursday. Present at the event were S. Pannamblam and Asansol-Durgarhpur Police Commissionerate along with other administration officials. The minister said that 'Sbrchchh App' has recently been launched to keep various cities of the state clean. Through this app, if common people see garbage lying on the road in any area, they will be able to take pictures of it and upload it. After receiving the complaint, the concerned municipal authority will clean the garbage and after uploading the picture as proof, the complaint will be resolved. Representatives of the private organization sponsoring the 'Edd My Bin' project said that dustbins will be installed in important and populated areas of the city in a phased manner. The organization will take the responsibility of maintenance and cleaning of dustbins. Besides, initiatives have also been taken to install separate 'pick bins' for collecting waste and to provide lighting in the dustbins at night. The minister said, there is a plan to install dustbins at an interval of about 100 meters. Private organizations will take up the responsibility of regular cleanliness, as a result there will be no extra pressure on the municipality. He expressed optimism that this initiative will play an important role in maintaining the cleanliness of the city.
