Owaisi's meeting in Asansol canceled due to delay in helicopter landing permission

Asansol, West Bengal The public meeting of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, scheduled for April 14, at ADDA grounds located at Webel IT Park in Asansol North assembly constituency was cancelled. The reason for cancellation of the meeting was said to be non-receipt of permission for helicopter landing on time. According to Danish Aziz, AIMIM candidate from North Assembly, he had applied for helicopter landing permission at the Paschim Bardhaman district administration office on April 10. This was the same place where a few days ago Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had arrived by helicopter to address an election rally. Danish Aziz told that he had applied through written as well as online medium and was also assured of getting permission from the authorities. Despite this, one of his party workers was made to wait for hours at the district office and the permission letter was not issued on time. Meanwhile, arrangements for the pandal and chairs for the public meeting to be held at 10.30 am at the meeting place at Girja Mod had been completed and people had also started gathering. But the meeting had to be canceled as the permission letter was received around 3:30 in the afternoon. Danish Aziz alleged that there were political reasons behind the delay. He said that the opposition party is creating such obstacles out of fear. He also claimed that the public has now understood these things and will support AIMIM in the upcoming elections.
