Women football tournament organized in Asansol will promote women empowerment: Orish Mukherjee

Asansol, West Bengal. A three-day women's football tournament is being organized from February 28 to March 2 in Raipara area of ​​Ward No. 13 under Asansol North Assembly. This competition is being organized by Asansol Sports Lovers Association, in which a total of 16 women teams from different districts of the state will participate. Tournament organizer Orish Mukherjee said that the main objective of the event is to promote women empowerment and provide an opportunity to women to showcase their talent through sports. He said that in today's time, such events are needed to advance women and make them self-reliant. Along with sports competitions, cultural programs will also be organized. The tournament will begin with a concert on February 28, after which the matches will be played. Tribal dance will be organized on March 1 followed by football matches. The final match will be played with the bowl anthem on March 2. Holi Milan ceremony will also be organized on the same day. The winning and outstanding performing teams in the tournament will be rewarded. In this regard, Asansol Sports Lovers Association President and BJP leader Krishnandu Mukherjee said that in a state where women do not feel safe and do not get enough respect, such events will prove helpful in increasing their self-confidence and respect. He said that the local people will also be entertained through colorful cultural programs and efforts will be made to promote the art and culture of the state and the country. The organizers hope that this tournament will give a new direction to sports and cultural awareness in the region and will prove to be an important initiative towards the empowerment of women.
