Now an email was received threatening bomb attack at the passport office located in the main post office complex of GT Road market area.According to the email source, a bomb has been placed inside the Asansol main post office building and a threat has been given that there could be a sudden explosion at 1:15 pm. As soon as the matter was known, widespread panic spread in the post office and adjoining areas. In this regard, Deputy Superintendent of Post Office Komal Singh said, this threat related message was received from the Kolkata office on Thursday morning. The matter was immediately informed to the police administration. As a precautionary measure, the passport office and main post office buildings are immediately evacuated. On receiving the news, Asansol South police station reached the spot. Bomb squads and dog squads were brought in to search the entire area. Police sources informed that the office work will resume after a complete investigation and after giving a clean chit. Due to this incident, many people who come for passport or post office work face problems. The offices were vacated and many of them had to return without working. The incident is being seriously investigated by the police administration. Besides, the general public has been requested not to heed the rumors.
